Elliot says...

Why shouldn't a seven-year-old have a blog? A father poses questions and a son answers directly, honestly, and candidly with the directness, honesty, and candor that only a seven-year-old can bring. Dictated and moderated by AmsterdamAsp , these are the words of Elliot himself: simple and complex observations of the world from the mind of a six-year-old...

You want to write a blog about dinosaurs?

Dinosaur bones! The dinosaur bones were about thirteen-fourteen big. First, they still were alive. Then, they falled. And then they were dead. And then they jumped with the bones, and then it fell.

And then a farmer usually comes. And then he takes the bone and he looks at it, and he makes it into a dinosaur skeleton! And they built a real one too. With a real head and real legs. And it was real big.

It was his whole body except his tail. His tail stretched so high that it almost touched the ceiling. But the ceiling is erg hoog [very high]. Have you ever seen a dinosaur in a house that could put his tail up to the ceiling?

i have several dinosaurs in my house: a bracheosaurus and a pachycepholosaurus, and they're both tall enough to touch the ceiling.

Near my house in Colorado there are many huge dinosaur footprints in the rocks from when they walked on the beach long ago. The footprints are bigger than a pizza, and you can sit inside them- they are bigger than you! The dinosaur of our state is the Stegosaurus. http://www.frontrangeliving.com/outdoors/DinosaurRidge.htm

Dear Elliot,
I will be going to a museum in New York City this coming November. It's called the Museum of Natural History. They have entire dinosaur skeletons! I'll think of you.
