Elliot says...

Why shouldn't a seven-year-old have a blog? A father poses questions and a son answers directly, honestly, and candidly with the directness, honesty, and candor that only a seven-year-old can bring. Dictated and moderated by AmsterdamAsp , these are the words of Elliot himself: simple and complex observations of the world from the mind of a six-year-old...

What do you think about your new baby brother?

I think that he is really sleepy. And that he likes baths… And, um… that he likes to be warm -- 'cause they’re out of the mommy’s belly, and in the mommy’s belly it’s nice and warm.

I like that he gets to have a baby burrito. There’s this blanket and then you lay the baby down in it and then you wrap the baby up in it and then he gets really warm.

And he likes poems. I think he does. And how about I tell you a poem right now?

Once there was an ant.
And the ant said, “No, what are you doing ant?"
And then the other ant came -- and bugs came --
And they wanted to eat the ants.
And the ants said, “No, you can’t come in here!"
And then a chopper came.
And then he wanted to kill them.
And then he went back and forth --
Back and forth, Back and forth --
And then they stopped.
And they said, “Oh no! No! It’s raining!”
And then they’re thinking
About their homes and their food.
And then they all jumped in their homes.
And they all got flooded out.
And that’s the end.
